Burlington LP Events <back to main>May 7, 2005 - Green Up Day Extends to New North End 5/10/2005 2:24:45 PM May 7th 2005, 9:30AM, Ethan Allen Park - Green Up Day Extends to New North End Heavenly and Jeremy Ryan have been helping to organize Green Up Day in the New North End of Burlington (Wards 4 & 7). Volunteers of all ages met at Ethan Allen Park (1006 North Avenue) to help organize groups to pick up litter in Ethan Allen Park, Leddy Park, along North Avenue, and the Bikepath. Overall, around 30 people turned out with their families, helping however they could, even if it was for only 30 minutes. By noon, 20 bags of trash were collected, with the oddest rubbish being a couch cushion. Heavenly and Jeremy extend thanks to everyone who came out to volunteer, as well as to those Ward 4 & 7 NPA Steering Committee Members: Jim Flint, Joanna Cole, and Jim Holway.
